A gang of birds

Last year I bought my first pair of binoculars (finally!), a Nikon Aculon A211 8×42. I hardly had enough time to do birding for the last six months, so now that I have some moments to spare, I”m trying my best to go for birding as much as I can, albeit in my neighbourhood itself. It is really worth the time and effort considering the nicely wooded land behind our apartment and countrysides spreading out far and wide. While the season isn”t particularly birding-friendly due to intermittent rain, every now and then when the sun peeps out, I go out looking for birds. This afternoon was particularly pleasant and cool. Clouds were hanging overhead with enough sunlight to spot birds who were out enjoying the good weather as well. While going through the woods with my binoculars on, I spotted a bare branch where a pair of Red-vented Bulbuls was perching. But, it came as a surprise to see that just a few metres away, a Coppersmith Barbet was enjoying the lush green view of the countryside as well! When I switched views, and came back to zoom in at the same branch again, I found a Spotted Dove there along with a male Asian Koel. What a party it was! It seems as if the ”branch without leaves” was quite a popular place for birds to hang out and it really brightened my day up to catch a view of so many species in the same place itself. It really was a nice day out and I intend to go back tomorrow to get a view of that same spot again to see what kind of gang of birds is there to surprise me next.
