Spacings

When I read a book, particularly a good one I need some time to think after finishing it. Which means I have a hard time starting a new book and focusing on it. I try to pick something to read immediately afterwards but I know it won’t work. I put the new book down. It’s not as if the book I liked I would remember much of it or that I actively mull over what I had read (sometimes I do – it plays in my head like a movie – certain snippets of it) but I feel heavy in the head with a lot of swirling thoughts that I want to settle down before starting something new. Usually it takes only a day to calm things down in my head but many times I have to wait a few days before I feel ready to start reading something again. It’s just one of the issues of being a bookworm – which I love, of course.
