The website

My attempt to write and maintain a blog has gone through many changes – of different domain names or quirky titles, and varying content. Initially, I started a personal and bird-related blog at Live Journal, which I moved to pakshi.org to write solely about birds. After that, I have moved from one domain name to another, not able to settle for scribblednotes.in or thepakshistudio.com. The idea for pressedflowers.in came when I was planning to move to a somewhat informal name and it suited my purpose: a beloved collection of my journal-format writings lost among the links of my domain to be found and enjoyed by its readers – like lovely pressed flowers that are found within the pages of a book or old-forgotten journal that elate its finder.

The author

Hello All! I’m Fatima, a 30-ish old from India. I’m a Software Engineer by profession and many other things by interest, which includes (but not limited to) –
1) an oil/watercolour/acrylics painter,
2) a voracious reader (magic and magical realism, natural history, autobiographies, historical fiction, crime, and mystery, etc.),
3) a budding (pun-intended) gardener,
4) a lover of nature and natural history, and
5) a writer (of personal journal, poems, and blog mostly).
I live with my husband and children in the beautiful (but sadly fast changing) city of Bangalore.

And, this meager description pretty much sums me up. 🙂
