Agatha Christie Day

I started reading Agatha Christie about 12 years ago when I had bought N or M? from my hometown’s old and famous bookshop, Good Books. I had picked it up on a whim not knowing what to expect. I had heard of Agatha Christie vaguely but I had not read any of her books before. I am glad I did pick it because she’s one of my favourite authors now, notwithstanding the fact that her mysteries and crimes are rather old school these days. But I still like her books because even if her methods and techniques sound outdated, her characters (Did people really talk so much in 20th century England though?) and settings are still intriguing. Just yesterday I finished They do it with Mirrors and although it was kind of an obvious murder mystery, the setting was nice and the cast was interesting.

I am close to finishing all of her mystery books after which I will start with her pen name’s Mary Westmacott books and I am sure whatever she had written I would love to read. I love her autobiography which is more interesting than any of her mystery books. And, maybe when I am done reading all of them, I may re-read them because there is nothing like cosy books of Agatha Christie.
