National Bird Day – 5th January

National Bird Day, celebrated on 5th January every year, is an initiative to celebrate the existence of the ten thousand plus birds that are found all over the world. I recently got to know about National Bird Day and I feel that there can be no other day better than this to write about why I love birds so much. But, I don’t exactly know how to put it in words. I don’t think I’d ever be able to. I love them because they fly and represent freedom? Or because they are one of the most aesthetic and beautiful species of living beings? Or maybe, because their songs capture your heart with every tune and note. I don’t know. Everything about birds is admirable. There is no reason at all why I shouldn’t love them.  There is no reason why anyone should hate them (unless they peck off your crop fields, in that case it’s difficult to love them but still…). It is a hard thing to explain why you love someone/something because there are times when you love someone/something so much that it almost breaks your heart with all the love squished in; it’s difficult to tell exactly why you love them because you just do, you always had, you always will. You just do it, unconditionally. I think it is the best part about loving, after all. You don’t have to prove or give reasons. You just love, every day, year after year. And, so I’ll keep loving birds regardless of whether I ever become able to pinpoint reasons why exactly they are such a wonderful part of life. They just are and I accept it. That’s all.

PS. *ahem* I know it is a very incoherent post, but sometimes, I guess it is okay to be incoherent, particularly when you are busy, tired and sleepy all at the same time. Okay, now I am not making sense. I’ll attempt to edit this post some time in future, for sure, with proper reasons too, should I ever be able to come across them, that is.  For now, this will do.
